Better Anger management is not the solution, it’s not about dealing with the eruption once it has started. It’s not about avoiding the situations or things that make you mad, and behave that way, it’s about changing your thoughts and feelings about those things, so you no longer react in anger.
Anger is a very fast totally automatic response; it is an emotional response, no amount of analysing ‘root causes’ will help in creating different outcomes. The behaviour is to do with triggers, cues; and often there is a clear pattern and the anger is directed at one individual, or a specific set of people.
There is a process to this thing called Anger. Thinking the same thoughts over and over again, making internal suggestions, picturing things in the same way, focusing in on one particular issue, or problem and seeing it everywhere.
For many clients it’s about forming better relationships with themselves and the people around them; everyone feels their Anger is justified when they're actually Angry. It is only afterwards that the damage becomes apparent.
