This type of condition is not as unusual as you may expect, many people feel uncomfortable eating in public, for them the act of taking food into their bodies is a very personal thing, they do not like to have others watching, wondering what they are thinking, making opinions and judgements on them as they eat. It does not feel right.
The secret to sorting this is to address the anxieties my clients feel when they think about eating with other people about. It’s not about digging down to ‘root causes’ and trawling through huge amounts of information. A little knowledge about how you know how to feel the way that you feel and think those thoughts that you think at those times that bother you is useful. It’s all about giving you the scope the think differently, feel differently and to act different.
A fear of eating in public is not the most unusual request I have had so far, so give me a call, and I will give you an honest answer, if I can help you, I will.
